Is it seriously Thursday again already? I feel like I just did last week’s post yesterday! We do have a few good recipes to share with you this week. I am really enjoying this installment on the blog because it is making us try new fun recipes. We have definitely found some real keepers too! Plus, it has given me lots of new favorites to add to the food blog. That is my favorite resource when making our menu each week!
Here we go…
#1 – Cheesy Chicken Taquitos. These are seriously delicious! As a matter of fact, a sweet friend made them for her family last night and immediately texted me to tell me how delicious they were. Soooo so good! You definitely need to try them! We have made them a couple times in the last two weeks. They were so good I had to get them up on my food blog asap!
#2 – Mexican Pizza. This isn’t on the blog YET but it’s coming. It was too dark to take pictures of it last night so we will just have to make it again soon. I am using my pictures of our favorite recipes to create a printed cookbook to give each of the kids when they move out on their own. Anyway, this mexican pizza is suppose to be a copycat of the Taco Bell Mexican Pizza. I have never had that one before, but now I need to try it and see how they compare. This is super yummy!

#3 – Monkey Bread Muffins. You all know that I have to share something with cinnamon. I mean it is the start of fall and I do love me some cinnamon!! These make a great Saturday morning breakfast. I say Saturday morning because you have time to truly sit and enjoy them. They are easy enough to make any day of the week, but they are best enjoyed when you aren’t rushed! 😉 This was another new recipe that we tried and loved so much that I had to immediately add it to the food blog.
4. Chili’s Queso Dip. We eat out pretty big meals on Sunday’s after church so we aren’t overly hungry for dinner. We need something but not anything big. That is where I tend to bring in appetizers or frozen chicken tenders & fries. We all love this Queso dip and it is so easy to make!! We have made it probably 50 times since we first discovered the recipe.
Some of our other favorite meals or favorite tweaks to stuff that we made this week were:
- I made boxed brownies but added Hershey’s syrup to the mix before baking. You can buy it with it already in the box, but they had the more basic Betty Crocker brownies on sale for $1 a box. All you have to do is squirt some Hershey’s syrup in there and it tastes just like the more premium brownies. So fudgey and delicious!
- We made regular bacon slider cheeseburgers one night. Kendall wasn’t home when we had the White Castle burgers last week so she requested them this week. I made hers with the seasoning I use on the White Castle burgers but we grilled them rather than cooking in the oven. We made regular bacon cheeseburgers for the rest of us since we had already had the others recently. They were all yummy.
- We grilled pork chops one night. We LOVE them marinated all day in the Caribbean Jerk marinade from Lawry’s. Kroger has their brand of it which is just as good and saves you a few pennies too.
I think that’s it! We have some more fun stuff on the agenda for the rest of this week and next! 🙂
