Here I go again with another cinnamon sugar recipe.  We recently made this and fell in love with it.  I have already made it a few times.  It takes very similar to a favorite Cinnamon Crumb Cake that we used to buy from a favorite bakery.  Yum!!!

Cinnamon Swirl Crumb Bread
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 eggs, beaten
For the Cinnamon Swirl
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
For the Crumb Topping
  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Powered sugar (for dusting)
  1. Preheat the oven to 350.
  2. Line a 9x5x3 loaf pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a large size mixing bowl, mix together flour, sugars, baking powder and baking soda.
  4. Add the oil and mix until you see small lumps beginning to form. Next add in the sour cream, eggs and vanilla. Mix just until batter forms. Make sure you don't over mix! The batter will be lumpy.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the Cinnamon Swirl ingredients.
  6. In another small bowl, mix together the Crumble topping.
  7. Pour ⅓ of the batter into your loaf pan. Spread evenly. Sprinkle ½ of the cinnamon swirl mixture on top.
  8. Pour another ⅓ of the batter over the cinnamon swirl layer. Spread evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon swirl mixture over the top.
  9. Pour the remaining batter on top and spread evenly. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the top of the bread.
  10. Bake for 60-70 minutes until you insert a toothpick and it comes out clean.
  11. Lightly dust the top with powdered sugar (optional).

Okay my friends, if you haven’t made any recipes off of this blog yet you HAVE to make this cinnamon sugar banana bread. Like NOW.  Go ahead.  I will be here when you get back so you can tell me how awesome it is.  Seriously. This bread is one of our absolute favorite things that we ever make.  I know the recipe by heart because I have made it so many times already.

The recipe is really easy and comes out perfect every time. We all know about my love affair with cinnamon so it’s not surprising that it’s my favorite.

Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread
  • 3 over-ripe bananas, smashed up
  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • ¼ c. light brown sugar
  • ½ c. white sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • dash of salt
  • ½ c. white wheat flour
  • 1 c. bread flour
  • ¼ c. white sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  1. Preheat oven to 350•. Line a 9x5 loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together bananas, butter, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla.
  3. Put the baking soda and salt on top of the banana mixture.
  4. Gently stir in the flour. Do not over mix!
  5. In a small dish, mix the ¼ c. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan. Then sprinkle half of the sugar & cinnamon mixture all over the batter.
  7. Add the rest of the batter and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon/sugar on top.
  8. Bake for 45-60 minutes. Watch carefully and don't over bake.

I am a HUGE bread lover. As a matter of fact, I can’t think of one that I don’t like. I just wish my hips didn’t like it so much. HA! Growing up my mom made the most AMAZING homemade bread. It was seriously to die for but it was also very time consuming. As you have seen on the blog here, I am more of a quick and easy type of baker. I am in love with my bread machine. I don’t even have a newer fancy one. I think we got ours as a gift from my grandparents not long after we were married. I have thought about upgrading over the years, but this one has never let me down. The same goes for this recipe. I have never had it fail and I make it a lot. I mean A LOT! How much easier can you get than a Bread Machine White Bread recipe.

It has the BEST texture and it never ends up with those larger holes in it like you get from a lot of bread machine recipes. It is always perfect!!  We like it all times of the day, but especially in the mornings warmed up with a little butter.  If you have a bread machine, you HAVE to try this. Like NOW!

The Best Bread Machine White Bread
  • 1⅓ cups warm water, 110 degrees
  • ⅓ cup olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups bread flour (or 1.5 cups white wheat flour and 2.5 cups bread flour)
  • 2 Tbsp & 2 tsp white sugar
  • 2 Tbsp & 2 tsp dry milk
  • 3 tsp active dry yeast (not quick rise)
  1. Put water, oil and salt in your bread machine.
  2. Next add in the flour on top of the liquids.
  3. Pour sugar into a corner of the bread machine.
  4. Pour dry milk into another corner.
  5. Make a small hole in the center of your flour and pour in the yeast.
  6. Set your bread machine for a basic loaf and choose the crust setting you prefer.
